Quaker® Oats Cheery Cherry Crisp Recipe

  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tbsp corn starch
  • ½ cup orange juice
  • 2 cans (16 oz. each) pitted sour cherries, drained
  • 1/3 cup no sugar added dried cranberries


  • 1 cup Quaker® Oats (quick or old fashioned, uncooked)
  • 1 tbsp firmly packed brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp margarine or butter, melted
  • 1 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/3 cup chopped nuts (pecans or walnuts)


  1. Heat oven to 375°F.
  2. In a medium saucepan stir together granulated sugar and cornstarch. Gradually stir in cranberry juice, mixing well.
  3. Stirring constantly, bring to a boil over medium-high heat. Cook and stir 1 minute or until thickened and clear.
  4. Remove from heat; stir in cherries and cranberries.
  5. Spoon filling into six small (about 6 ounce) ovenproof custard or soufflé cups or heart-shaped ramekins, dividing evenly.
  6. For topping, combine all ingredients in a small bowl; mix well.
  7. Sprinkle topping over each fruit cup, dividing evenly.
  8. Bake 15 to 20 minutes or until topping is golden brown. Serve warm.

  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup Quaker® Quick Grits or Old Fashioned Grits, uncooked
  • 4 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt (optional)
  • 1/2 cup margarine or butter
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup milk


  1. Heat the oven to 425°F.
  2. Combine dry ingredients; cut in margarine until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Stir in cheese; add milk, mixing just until dry ingredients are moistened.
  3. Shape the dough to form a ball; knead gently on a lightly floured surface 3 to 4 times.
  4. Roll out the dough to form an 8-inch square.
  5. Cut the dough into four 2-inch wide strips; cut each strip crosswise into 4 pieces.
  6. Place biscuits about 1 inch apart on an ungreased cookie sheet.
  7. Bake for 12 to 14 minutes or until golden brown.
